Swine flu!

So i have been off work for like 3 weeks now and just resumed this week. I was ill and guess what it was, swine flu!!! Chai, how did that happen ?from where to where? I tried everything possible to make sure that i wasn't going to get infected with all these flu flying around the place. So i avoided touching public railings and handles, had my antiseptic in my handbag, washed my hands anytime i remembered to and there was the classic evil look at anyone who sneezed and coughed around me without covering their mouths like "you better not be spreading all that bacteria around" so i shift base asap.


It all started with me coughing during the weekend i sha managed to go for a picnic with a friend. Then the headaches, sore-throat, high temperature started. I had read up all the symptoms and information about swine flu so i started getting scared like really scared. I saw my GP first thing monday morning and a series of tests were carried out and so it was confirmed! My GP couldn't wait to get rid of me, she even suggested i get a cab home so as to reduce my contact with the great british public. I got my tamiflu and doctor's note for work and then walked home. I was sad, upset and felt alone. Anyone who knows me will know that i don't handle sickies to well. Ill health is not my portion.


I gave them a call at work and my boss sounded really scared and told me to take as much time off as i need till i have completely recovered. I swear i could hear in her voice the emphasis she laid on "much" and "completely recover".


So i stayed home and since i live on my own there was no fear of passing it on to people in my surroundings. I told my closest friend H to stay away completely but she didn't. She came around with my fave takeaway twice. I opened the door slightly and she passed them through. I love that child to bits.


After a week, i felt slightly better no headaches and high temperature just the occassional cough and so i went back to work as boredom wan make me kolo. So i got to work and was getting on with my duties when i let loose one tiny cough. I Didn't even think much of it unknown to me my boss heard. I was sent back home within 10 seconds. My boss couldn't wait to get rid of me.


So i went back home and was off work for another 2 weeks till the stubborn cough totally dissappeared. I was bored out of my mind. It was total torture but at least i lazied around the house, watched koko manison, perfected my cake decorating skills and just had some time with me.


Anyway, i resumed work this week. e ki alleluyah!!! and i am back to old routine. Just goes to show how people are scared of this swine flu am not sure if its being labelled an epidemic yet. I even avoided telling people i was infected cuz the questions never stop and then you get those who run far away from you once they hear you say "swine" they dont even wait for the flu before they flee. I don't blame them jare totally understandable.


I am making light of all these now but some people have had it far worse. So i am grateful to the lover of my soul, awimayehun, ale wi le se, the one whose mercy never fades. My father and lord. Why won't i praise you at all times?

Blogging Again!

So i have been putting off this blogging thing for a while now due to reasons i am really not sure off. It could be down to me being lazy, coming back to familiar territory after about two years off blogsville and wondering how things must have changed.Very few of the blogs i read still remain and there are so many fresh, fab and interesting new blogs out there i simply can't wait to begin. So here is to blogging all over again, sharing me and stalking new blogs. So here is to being back with a bang!
